Each November, Black Oak Casino kicks off the holiday season by inviting 10 Tuolumne and Calaveras County charities and non-profits to participate in the Annual Community Grab for Cash.
Last year, 11 participating organizations took home more than $21,450, bringing the 7-year total to more than $96,000. This year’s Grab for Cash will be held on successive Wednesdays, November 10th and 17th, 2010.
"The Community Grab for Cash at Black Oak Casino is our way of kicking off the holiday season by giving back to the community," said Ron Patel, Black Oak Casino General Manager. "It’s a fun opportunity for our local non-profit organizations to get some much needed financial support."
A representative from each of the selected organizations has the opportunity to get in the Casino’s cash cube and grab as much of the whirling $5,000 as they can in 30 seconds. The rewards of those moments in the cube can be seen in a number of ways in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. Over the years an ever-changing variety of non-profits have been represented and invited to take part in the seasonal giving event, providing a windfall for their efforts in a tough current fund raising environment. These funds have been used wisely in efforts impacting many residents of both Tuolumne and Calaveras County.
To apply, interested parties should submit a one-page letter of appeal to Black Oak Casino that outlines the mission statement of the organization, its size, the community group being served, and the organization’s funding needs. All submittals must be received by 5:00 p.m. Friday October 15th, 2010 to be considered. Please address all appeals to:
