Country Rock singer Bo Bice – who was a runner up in American Idol – will be performing at Black Oak Casino on April 6th. Bice placed second to Carrie Underwood in the fourth season of American Idol, and has gone on to launch a successful music career. Bice has recorded three albums since then, and his song “Inside Your Heaven” reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Bice was one of the oldest contestants to audition and participate in American Idol when he auditioned for the show in 2004 as part of a bet with his mom that he wouldn’t do it. At age 28, he barely made the cut-off since producers had just raised the maximum age from 24 to 28 for participants beginning that season. Just three months short of his 29th birthday, Bice wowed judges with his performance. When he made it to the final three, Bice made American Idol history again when he became the show’s first performer to sing without a band or back-up singers. His a cappella performance drew rave reviews as well.
Bice grew up in Alabama in a family of gospel singers and now resides in Nashville. He has maintained a busy schedule of touring nationwide for the past five years, and has appeared on numerous TV shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live with Regis & Kelly, and many more.
