Chefs at Black Oak Casino to Carve Giant Pumpkins
Weighing 450 to 700 Pounds Each

Casino’s huge pumpkins on display through Thanksgiving
First one to be carved Tuesday at 10am

TUOLUMNE, CA – Some of the biggest pumpkins in the country are now on display at Black Oak Casino, and chefs at the casino will be carving one enormous pumpkin per week for the next four weeks.  The public is invited to watch this impressive feat, as five of the pumpkins weigh between 450 to 700 pounds. The Atlantic Giant pumpkins came from Auburn, CA.

The artistic talent of these chefs can be witnessed as they carve the first huge pumpkin on Tuesday, October 28th at 10am. Each year, Black Oak Casino tries to find some of the state’s biggest pumpkins so their talented chefs can turn them into art. The new world record was grown this year in the Midwest at over 1500 pounds.  Seeds for these monster pumpkins can sell for $70.00 each or more.

“If you think carving your 10 pound pumpkin is a big job, just imagine what it’s like carving one 70 times that size,” said Al O’Brien, marketing manager of Black Oak Casino. “You can see them do just that every week here at the casino, and it’s a lot of fun to watch.”

The giant pumpkins are now on display at Black Oak Casino and the elaborate pumpkin art will remain there until Thanksgiving. Guests can see the pumpkin display as they enter the casino.
