Tuolumne, CA – January 28, 2008 Professional Poker Pro Phil Laak, accompanied by Oscar nominated and WSOP bracelet holder actress Jennifer Tilly attended the Poker Area Grand Opening at Black Oak Casino on Saturday, January 26, 2008. Director of Gaming Mitch Goldstein reported that “Thirty six seats were available in the tournament and they were sold out quickly within an hour or less”. Table Games Manager Matt Maddox said, “Tilly, flashing her 2005 WSOP bracelet as an intimidator, used her considerable skill and experience to win the tournament while managing the top stack for most of the tournament.” Poker Pro Laak played a seat on all four tables in “Bomber” style and was able to keep one seat until the end of the match taking third place, after being eliminated by Tilly. Over 200 guests attended a special reception in the Willow Creek Lounge celebrating the Poker area Grand Opening highlighted by a “Meet and Greet,” with Laak and Tilly featuring autographs and pictures. Other winners in the tournament included second place winner Dan Burdette, and additional top six finishers, Michael Rainwater, Dustin Rice, Randall Rapp, and Ron Rieger.
